Practice Hunting Scent Control and You Could Win
Every year we have a friendly little big buck game. We all throw a little money in the pot before the season and follow some simple rules. Whoever has the most points at the end of the season is declared the winner. We accumulate points by adding the bucks gross antler score and his weight after being field dressed. Both of those numbers added together gives you your score. You better practice hunting scent control to take a big enough deer to win. We have to take our buck to be weighed and measured at a designated place so it is fair for everyone. We all use the same scale and the same guy measures the racks for us, he is not in the game so he is not biased in anyway. Last year the payout was almost seven hundred dollars so it is quite fun if you win. What it does basically is it pays for you to get your nice buck mounted by a professional taxidermist and that is what it is all about anyway. We all love hunting and getting together. After the season like sometime in February we will have a big party with lots of food and drinks. We will announce the winner and everybody tells their hunting stories and brings pictures. Last year we had a little discussion about hunting scent control and how to get better at it.
