First Aid Is Part of Your Mountain Climbing Gear
You should be ready to remedy minor illnesses and accidents especially if it takes days before you can access professional medical help. Your Mountain Climbing Gear should include first aid items for treating wounds such as adhesive tape, bandages, gauze swabs, sterile alcohol wipes, non-adhesive dressings, sutures, steri-strips and small scissors. You should also have syringes, needles, thermometer and tweezers. Among the medications that you should bring are diphenhydramine for allergies, ibuprofen for headache, immodium for diarrhea, antibiotic ointment for skin infection, acetaminophen for fever and metronidazole for antibiotic treatment. Make sure that these first-aid items are in a place where you can easily access them.
