The Downsides of Biometric Products Security

The technology of  biometric products  security is not perfect. Several commercial biometrics security systems have already been compromised by determined thieves. For example, one simple technique that will fool some fingerprint scanners is to use a piece of tape to tape over the scanning surface to acquire the valid fingerprints and to create a wax version with harvested print. Also, thieves may assault the property owners if they are unable to secure access to the property secured by the biometric security products. One concrete example is in when car thieves cut off the finger of a Mercedes-Benz S-Class owner when trying to steal his car. The damage to the owner was permanent and irreversible, as compared to the asset, which conceivably may be replaced.
