Rabbit hutches or rabbit cages – which are better?
It’s funny how the mind works because when you think of a caged animal you immediately think of an animal that is trapped yet when you think of a hutch the image in your mind is quite different. In reality your reasoning for picking one over the other may be quite justified. A rabbit cage is good for indoor use where the rabbit is kept in the safety of a house and therefore it does not matter that the cage will expose them more. If you do use a cage however you must ensure that the surface of the cage is covered with soft straw or nespaper. A cage is not really good outside as it can get colder than a hutch and leaves the rabbit more vulnerable to predators as well. rabbit hutches are good for indoor and outdoor use but tend to be bigger.
