Hijabs For Policewomen
The hijab is the head covering Muslim women wear in order to follow their faith and protect their beauty. In fact, it has now become such a common sight in the west that the Metropolitan Police in London allows their Muslim policewomen to wear Hijabs as part of their uniform.
At the “Protect and Respect: Everybody’s Benefit” conference the announcement was made and since then this move has been seen as yet another sign of officialy accepting Britain as a religiously diverse society. Just as Sikh policemen can wear the turban as part of their uniform, Muslim policewomen can now wear the hijab.
