Do We Live in a Liminal World?

Are we living in a liminal world? What does this even mean, you might be wondering? Liminal refers to something emerging, or on the threshold or border. A liminal state is basically a state between two other states, as when you are between places when traveling or between childhood and adulthood. Some philosophers, such as Lao Tse in the East and Heraclitus in the West, have said that change is the only constant (or something like that). This implies that the world we live in is a liminal one, as we are always in between different places, times or stages. There is also the possibility that the present age is the most liminal of all, as change happens faster all the time. So, live liminally; you probably don’t have any other choice.
