Bible translations

There are many different Bible translations and it can be difficult to decide which one is right for you. The Contemporary English Version is considered very readable, for both adults and children. It attempts to use natural English expressions to convey the same meaning as the original text. 100 translation experts contributed to this very successful version. Dr. Barclay Newman led this effort. In many other versions, there are translation difficulties that are left unresolved but the Contemporary English Version tackles most of these issues. In 1996 the Contemporary English Version won the Crystal Award from the Plain English Campaign in the United Kingdom.
