Thatch Roof

I love the look of old Tudor houses in England and across the United Kingdom in general. When we were vacationing there, my husband explained that they had used thatch to make the roofing on all of the old buildings that I loved. They were made out of bundled grasses and designed to wick water away from the inner part of the roof, which was a very smart system. Some of those structures have lasted for hundred of years because of how well done they were. I really enjoyed learning more about how they used grasses in building throughout history.
