Are Acne and Hormonal Imbalance Related?
In looking for a cure for acne, you should know that research has gone on to show that people with chronic acne, tend to have rather oily skin because of high levels of androgen and testosterone. Resultantly, many skin experts feel that an appropriate balance of androgen and estrogen is needed to have skin that is acne free.The correlation between hormones and acne can generally be seen in the teenage years, or earlier. Also, in between 19 to 24 years of age, people are prone to getting acne not just on their faces, but also on the back and the chest. Excessive hormone levels can be a cause for all of these occurrences.This connection between acne and hormones goes further, as many are of the opinion that acne begins to occur only after the body begins producing androgen.
