My Analysis On “Capital: The Long Slog of Paring Debt”

not mentioned but an obvious way to reduce consumer advice debt, other then fiddling with your mortgage, is to pay it down. the best way to have this happen is to get the economy moving so payrolls increase.

incidently, lost in the noise, an excellent way to begin to have this happen was suggested yesterday by mitt romney. begin to invest heavily in our own vast energy resources. the jobs are high paying and the return on capital is high ( know what the return on capital is for high speed rail?). not only will the prospect of greatly increased future supply drive down prices , helping consumers today, but part of increased consumer income will help to pay down debt. cornelius bond

A Commentary On “Jobs’s Wife Backs Education Causes”

I appreciate the article. There’s been quite a whispering campaign that the Jobs were selfish jobs and careers did nothing for charity because they don’t claim much giving on their tax returns. I knew better because I was aware of Jobs setting up a foundation between Apple I and Next, and knew that his wife is involved in education issues. (As is Melinda Gates, Bill’s wife.) Sometimes, I see people who know next to nothing about Apple or the Jobs passing this false claim on, thinking they have the dirt on both. It is good to see the truth about Apple and the Jobs’ philanthropic endeavors start to come to light.

Criticism On “Identity Politics Kills”

We are maybe talking here about the b/c mandate and its opposition by some of us, for religious liberty

Those in support talk about the various benefits, related to pregnancies, abortions, unwanted births, and sexually transmitted diseases, and hormone regulation via pills

Those in support offer that there are 28 states now that impose this soon-federal mandate, across the remaining 22, or if you are Obami 29

THUS, we have SOMETHING of a naturalistic experiment 28 states with this mandate vs 22 states without

Sounds like we should be able to identify and then quantify if we are getting these benefits

For example, is unwanted pregnancy advice rate down, or abortions down, is (survey) birth control, pre- and post-conception impacted\

And what about the issue, money, are the mythical poor now enabled, so that we have to look at those covered/ not covered by this mandate, identify the poor who cannot afford and see if they avail themselves in the 28 states

Criticism On “Record Heat Bakes Texas, Already Suffering From Severe Drought”

Well of course humans have some impact on climate change, such as all the heat islands we have created. I think a lot of the change is due to land use. We cut down forests, we put asphalt everywhere, we build these horrible huge hot cities, and we keep popping out kids galore.

If you read some history such as what the Chinese did to their country for example around 500-800 bc, they cut down huge tracts of forests, they killed huge amounts of advice animals just for fun, and they did major environmental damage because they didn’t understand.

Also the rainforest has been decimated to a huge degree. Land use all across the globe has a lot more influence on climate change than an American’s SUV.

Contact companies that offer cleanups and cleanouts services New Jersey

It is a common thing that after constructions, lots of debris and waste materials are spread here and there. If such kinds of problems come up in New Jersey, it is best to contact companies that offer cleanups and cleanouts services New Jersey. These companies will ensure that the entire place is cleaned properly and taken back to the normal condition in the least possible time. These companies use various kinds of tools and machines for doing the job of cleaning up and cleaning out the place after any kinds of construction works. The charges of the companies vary from one another.

A Response To “Many Employers May Drop Health Coverage After Overhaul, Report Says”

The strategy is to enforce policies that lower the growth of health care costs, remove exclusions (like pre-existing conditions) and improve affordability .. in exchange for mandating purchase of coverage to greatly expand the population of insured, thereby enabling a better actuarial coverage of claims cost.

Not everything that is needed survived the fierce political battles that were fought to get the legislation passed. And as you know, there are still open challenges to the mandate feature. I’m open minded on the public option. Ironically, Congressman Ryan’s Medicare/Medicaid proposal may be the strongest argument FOR the public option. If we’re going to deeply cut Medicare and turn it into a capped voucher program, an idea that has merit, than people will want/need an affordable option.

My View On “Ford Drops in Quality Survey”

Dont use a cellphone in my car except in an emergency. hands free advice does not cure the multi-tasking distraction issue. Washington state has a mixed up law that you can be fined IF you have a cell phone to your ear such that it is visible. But apparently ok to use hands free or even text while driving.

people seem to believe that they MUST stay absolutely connected all day- every day- every hour or else the . . . . . fill in your version of importance or armegeddon here ..

I’d suggest that to see just how ‘ needed’ they really are .. stick your hand in a bucket of water, remove it. notice the size of the hole in the water that remains . . .

Local Lenders Give Loans For People With No Credit

You don’t have to go very far to find Loans For People With No Credit because there are local lenders write in your own area that offer these financial solutions to people like you. This will come as quite a relief because you are not comfortable with sharing all of your personal information on a website just to apply for a loan. That is understandable because you hear all the time about identity theft and hackers. Fortunately there are local options available to you so go ahead and look in the phone book to see which no credit lenders are available near you.

Commentary On “Romney’s Unorthodox IRA”

Dale is spot on, by the way. Most tax break up advices are actually ONLY available to the lower/middle class of America. Most wealthy citizens with high incomes phase out from deductions and tax breaks.

What the uninformed like to drivel on about is the benefit that those with more financial wealth (assets) can use certain tax rates to their advantage. That’s neither immoral or a crime, so I’m still not sure what the point is.

The Bush tax cuts, for example, made permanent the tax-free benefits of the 529 college savings plan. Those benefit the middle class very much, although for the wealthy, it’s a way of removing assets from their estate. Although it does the same thing for every 529 contributor, it has more of an effect for a wealthier citizen. It still does not, however, constitute a break or unfair advantage for the wealthy. Had the Bush Tax cuts sunset and expired, the benefits of investing in a 529 to offset the very real problem is staggering college tuition costs would be unavailable to Americans right now.

This is really the tip of the iceberg – simply Google the benefits to the Bush tax cuts and it will break down all of the benefits it gave to lower and middle class Americans. I’m pretty sure if people knew this, they’d feel a lot differently about those cuts.

A Commentary On “Women Fight Israeli Bus Segregation”

Mr. Deutsch, the solution is so simple it is ridiculous. The bus has two rows of seats going back. the men sit on the left hand side and the relationship advice for women sit on the right hand side. This requires a mechitzah. This is a partition which occludes vision between the men and women. This fulfills all Torah requiements. It maintains the dignity of women as they are being treated exactly the same as the men. This could be done with minimal expense and quickly. All the other issues are false trumped up issues which actually attack the Free Exercise Right of the haredis to praactice their religion as they see fit.

Thoughts On “California Lawmakers Davis and Feinstein Claim Accounts Looted”

So, several politicians use one source to manage their campaign funds and find the money was stolen. Thievery is bad period. But it should be a cautionary tale to not trust big, centralized organizations. The ability to commingle the funds and steal some, and then use the many accounts to try and disguise it is so like a large central bureaucracy.

It is time and past time to shrink government at every level and move the money and the authority mostly back to the smallest and most local level. Even when they aren’t actively stealing money, large bureacracies still will lose it, mis-spend or just waste it on un-needed administration.

I don’t celebrate seeing crimes committed but still understand the schadenfreude of seeing the Dems hoist on their own petards.

Analysis On “Humans Alone See Brains Shrink With Age, Researchers Find”

Shrinkage of the physical brain is not necessarily a measure of lthe efficacy of the mind. We’ve been told advice for newlyweds generation that we only use 10% of our brains as it is; I don’t buy it. Its not the quantity of the brains, its the quality of the mind. Analogize this to loss of hardware, but increasingly sophisticated software. I think it was General Patton who had physically only half a brain, but was in his field brilliant; quality counts more than quantity.

Who is to say that only good working portions of the brain are fouled by the ravage of time? the bad parts might be physically weaker and die earlier leaving a greater proportion of the better part of the mind or even that disfunctional minds focused on that which they do best will exceed even those with a healthy brain.

The article addresses only the disease model, not the mind model of the brain.

Thoughts On “Alan M. Dershowitz: Casey Anthony—The System Worked”

This jury had no common sense. They say there was no evidence of murder. Caley in a trash bag in a swamp with duct tape over her mouth and nose (even after months of decay) is not evidence of murder? This jury also said the prosecution did not prove motive. Casey not reporting her child’s disappearance and living like she had won the lottery is not evidence of motive? If a jury has no common sense, then there is virtually no way to convict a murderer with circumstantial evidence. This jury’s performance is proof beyond a reasonable doubt of who/what you get to serve when a trial is going to last for weeks and the jury is sequestered: not the brightest bulbs in the drawer with a complete lack of ability to use common sense. The system did NOT work. What a tragedy.

My Analysis On “Reinventing the Two”

Planners are not normally bike advicers and plan bike lanes accordingly. Where I live, the city and county put the typical bike lanes on major roads..in between the parking lane and the traffic lane. The planners didn’t think to plan for a driver opening a door…which ends up right in the bike lane. We’ve had a number of injuries from doors, as well as cars who turn right even though they see a bike in the lane. The average driver doesn’t understand that a bike traveling at 18-20 mph will arrive at the intersection sooner than they think and cannot stop instantly. Our highways have small lanes on the shoulders but once again, a biker is taking his life in his own hands as cars whiz by within one foot of the lane.

Our state has one of the highest bike/car fatatlity rates in the nation. One city near us, Ft. Myers, is light years ahead of other cities in our state.

Cars are a necessity, and will be in most areas for a long time. Eventually, city planners, if directed by their councils, will plan adequate lanes that can safely accommodate both.
