Time management techniques
To manage your time effectively you must learn to manage yourself. We all have 101 things that need doing but it is impossible to deal with them all immediately and effectively. Luckily, it is possible to manage everything you need to do in a practical and easy way with the right time management techniques. This is where the four Ds of self-management come in. They are: Do it - This is for tasks that have to be dealt with immediately or as soon as possible, so schedule them accordingly. Delegate it - These tasks need to be done but are not the best use of your time. These tasks should be passed on to someone who is better suited for the job. Dump it - If something isn’t important to you or really isn’t worth doing you should dump it. Defer it - Not all tasks have to be done immediately, if so you should defer them.
