There are many promotion strategies for your website. You can make a Flash game, have a contest, or just update regularly. Of course, the only way updating your website can realistically be used to promote it is if you already have a steady stream of regular visitors and they pass the word along. Which is a promotion strategy too, word of mouth can be one of the best strategies. I know I check out a website that my friends recommend because they know me so well. Another promotion strategy that may work is uploading a funny video to your website, either of you or someone you know. The popularity of YouTube testifies to the fact that people like funny videos.
