Aptera2e Technology Goes Back a Long Time

I would bet that there are many young people out there who know of only one or at most two forms of fuel for cars-gasoline and diesel. Yet, looking back over the past couple of centuries it might be surprising to learn that even electrically driven cars were first thought of in 1832.  The Morrison, for example, was a mass-produced car built in 1887. And in 1907 the  Detroit Electric could travel 80-miles with an average speed of 20mph on a single charge. Steam driven cars were around in 1896 right up to the 1920’s. Rudolph Diesel of Germany designed the first diesel engine back in 1893, and the oil crisis of 1973 put diesels back at the center of attention as manufacturers looked elsewhere from gasoline. So, while cars like the Aptera 2e look very new, the actual concept certainly isn’t.
