Renaissance Faires and Costumes

The Renaissance period was a time of enlightenment throughout Europe. This era is recreated every year at local Renaissance Faires and festivals. Most faires are at a fixed location where a renaissance village has been recreated. Some festivals even go to the extreme and include dirt roads to better represent the period.

Attendees arrive in renaissance costumes to feel a part of the atmosphere and their surroundings. Shops are set up at Renaissance Faires selling swords, jewelry, etc. that characterize that time in history. Some shops are even making items from the Renaissance era. A spectator might see glass blowing or pewter plates being beaten out as they watch.
